Malaysian Mirror       Tuesday, April 21, 2020

This was another corrupt leader you have. He was involved in the Malaysia’s foreign visa system (VLN) and has been charged with 40 counts of receiving bribes involving the VLN. He was charged under Section 165 of the Penal Code, in the capacity of a civil servant and then as the Home Affairs Minister, having received bribes between 2014 and 2017 in connection with the implementation of the VLN system.

33 charges were against him for accepting bribes amounting to RM42.76mil from a company linked to the VLN system. 26 of the charges were framed under the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Act 2009 for allegedly receiving S$9,320,000 (RM28.35mil) from Ultra Kirana Sdn Bhd to extend the company’s contract as a VLN one-stop centre (OSC) in China to maintain an agreement with the company to supply VLN integrated system paraphernalia. And for the seven other charges, as a civil servant he was accused of corruptly accepting S$1,150,000 (RM3.5mil), RM3,000,000, S$15,000 (RM68,727), and US$15,000 (RM61,559) in cash from the same company which he knew had connection with his function as the then Home Affairs Minister. Do you want him as a leader?
