Being the Prime Minister of a fragile government, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin leads the country by still brokering and haggling with Members of Parliament from all blocks to secure his magic number of 114 votes.
He secured 67 votes by giving them cabinet positions and 1 vote as envoy. He plans to secure the balance 46 votes through offering Chairmanship in GLC with huge salary package. Back of the envelop calculation would cost around RM100 million of Public money as annual salary package for all 114 members. That’s obviously cheap for Muhyiddin Yassin.
PAS is a easy bet for Muhyiddin, they will settle for anything since they are tasting power for the first time in a long time. But is that the same case for UMNO. Should they sell their dignity and compromise with Muhyiddin and Azmin Ali? For example, is UMNO’s Deputy President, a seasoned politician only worthy as a Chairman of a GLC and not a Minister. Are the UMNO MPs not ashamed of themselves being bullied by Muhyiddin and Azmin Ali. What message are they sending to their grass root. Are they Azmin Ali’s (the de facto Deputy Prime Minister) dogs willing to wag their tails when given bones.
