Was Tun Mahathir sincere in his promise to the voters in GE-14?

Malaysian Mirror       Friday, April 17, 2020

Undoubtedly the Malaysian voters had looked up and loved him as a leader in bringing down the kleptocratic government lead by Najib Razak. The voters and the Pakatan Harapan MPs expectation was for Tun Mahathir ensure a smooth transition of power from BN to PH.

However in the midst of his agreed tenure as Prime Minister, he got the taste of premiership and became his egoistic self. Reluctantly submitting to DAP’s pressure, Tun Mahathir surreptitiously funded Hamzah Zainudin to grow his MP numbers to 50. After seeing momentum in the numbers, he changed his mind to honor his promise to hand over the premiership to Anwar Ibrahim.

In reality, this 94-year-old man has never changed, he was only concerned to see through his failed visions, family and cronies. Thus born the backstabbing government designed by him and spearheaded Azim Ali, Hamzah Zainudin and Muhyidin Yasin.
