What is actually Tun Mahathir’s Legacy? Isn’t he leaving behind a Malay community that he divide into 6 groups?

Malaysian Mirror       Thursday, April 23, 2020

In the 1980 when Tun was running the country with an Iron Fist, he bought over UMNO's strong Malay grassroot with projects, funding, corruption and position with the sole idea of suppressing the dominant Chinese and Indians at that time. He brought about the quota system on business, professionals, industries, education and civil service. Thus, depriving the Chinese and the Indians their birth right to an extent you labeled them as “Pendatang”.

He curtailed the PAS Malays by robbing the east coast Malays any development and began splitting the Malays and inculcate hatred among the Malays. He never allowed any other smarter and honest Malay leaders like Tengku Razali and Musa Hitam to come up but carried out crony politics through Tun Daim. He buried any Malay who challenged his Iron First rule of UMNO and the country to the extent of tarnishing the Judicial System through his 2/3 majority of the Parliament. Once again, he divided the Malays in UMNO with the formation of Semangat 46. But with Anwar it was different. He took him under his wings during his ABIM times to prevent PAS from getting hold of him. As the saying goes - you keep your enemy closer than a friend. Naturally Anwar outsmarted you and you become jealous of his ability to outshine you as a Prime Minister. God forbid! You destroyed him and divided the Malays further with the formation of PKR.

Corrupted moron like Badawi and Najib were your stupid choices to destroy the country’s further, leading to your formation of Bersatu to once again chop up the Malay unity. Within a time spend of 20 or so years, you have left a legacy of dividing the Malays into 6 fractions: PAS, UMNO, PKR, BERSATU, WARISAN and GPS. How can Tun rest in peace with such a treacherous legacy haunting him.

  1. Comment no. 1 is bad written English. Mistake here and there never proof read. Factions, not fraction. Title is he divided.
