Muhyiddin tries to shake Sabah and Warisan by releasing Musa and charging Peter

Malaysians have yet to recover from the shock due to the release of former Sabah chief minister, Tan Sri Musa Aman from the 46 counts of charges related to the state’s timber concessions, and now they are piled with the charge on the state’s Infrastructural Development Minister Peter Anthony for money laundering amounting to RM8.75 million involving Risda. On 10 June 2020, this Warisan vice president was called in by MACC for investigation and a day after, he was summoned by the Kota Kinabalu court on the same count. Should Warisan president and Sabah chief minister Dato’ Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal start worrying about this? Would he not be concerned about what Peter Anthony may reveal to the court?

One after another trial has been encountered by members or alliance of Pakatan Harapan (PH) since Perikatan Nasional (PN) became the government led by Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. The 8th Prime Minister, who is also Bersatu president and acting chairman, has relentlessly ticked off Tun Mahathir and his followers until they were sacked from the party. He then moved on to shake Shafie Apdal after the latter openly pledged support to PH, knowing that PH is gearing enough MP support. The rumours about Shafie Apdal wanting to get hold of the deputy premiership post and his known, staunch loyalty to Tun Mahathir are worrying Muhyiddin Yassin so he had to plan for a coup in Sabah by making Musa Aman a free man to retaliate. It would be a ‘beautiful revenge’ by Musa Aman on Shafie Apdal, who has made his life miserable since 2018, by coming back stronger. Though many Malaysians have expressed worry of what will happen next, but they, particularly Sabahans, can foresee a “change” in Sabah once again and a power struggle between the two, as predicted by Datuk Seri Bung Mokhtar Radin recently.

Muhyiddin Yassin should be, by now, smiling cheek-to-cheek witnessing the political state in Sabah to ‘erupt’ soon with Musa Aman now being freed to avenge on the chief minister. What would happen to the Sabahans with this possible political fiasco? Shafie Apdal should do something before it is too late. With PKR and Dato' Seri Anwar standing firm on being the only candidate for Prime Minister, Shafie Apdal should reconsider his support for Tun Mahathir and play along with Anwar Ibrahim for the good of the state and country.
