On his official social media account, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin shared images taken from a meeting he had with Perikatan Nasional (PN) ally top party leaderships namely UMNO president Dato’ Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, PAS president Dato’ Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, MCA president Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong, MIC president Tan Sri Dato’ Vigneswaran Sanasee, PBB president Datuk Patinggi Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari, PDP president Dato’ Sri Tiong King Sing, PBS president Tan Sri Datuk James Jemut Masing, PBRS president Tan Sri Datuk Seri Joseph Kurup, and STAR president Datuk Jeffrey Kitingan. Also present was PN’s whip chief Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali and Bersatu secretary-general Dato’ Seri Hamzah Zainuddin. These leaders were said to be there to pledge their support to Muhyiddin Yassin as Prime Minister until GE15. By the look of the crowd present in the shared photos, Muhyiddin Yassin seems content. What he could really do right now is confidently have the evidence of the ‘support’ vouched for him as claimed by the next Parliamentary sitting on 13 July.
What could have transpired in the meeting was not fully revealed, yet the impression that the media and general crowd are getting is that Muhyiddin Yassin is garnering and gaining more support from some 12 parties to side him amidst the chaos created by Tun Mahathir on the Pakatan Harapan (PH) PM candidate issue. To note, this is what Muhyiddin Yassin has done in spite of his “less politicking” and “not interested in politicking” claims. With the rise in speculations on the numbers that PH has garnered, Muhyiddin Yassin has no choice but to swallow his own pride.
