One Day Parliament. History in the making or Joke of the century?

Malaysian Mirror       Wednesday, April 29, 2020
Whilst history will be written on May 18 as the Malaysian Parliament sits for a day, it will also be the joke of the century. What a mockery Malaysians will be witnessing locked up in their homes by the Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin?

The Prime Minister’s remarks in the recent interview, that he has no time to play politics and the general public’s health is of utmost importance doesn't make any sense. Wasn’t he playing politics when he played along with Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali’s coup in orchestrating Sheraton Part 1, leading to the country running for several days with no government? Didn’t his politics become the precursor to the extensive spreading of the Covid-19 disease amongst the Muslim community? Wasn't he appointing Members of Parliament as chairman of GLCs during the MCO?

His state of denial or falsehood, claiming that Malaysians are sick of politics must be wishful thinking considering Malaysians are imprisoned in their homes; denied of their right to express their anger and disgust to the treachery he had skill fully displayed.

Undeniably, he is going to extend his movement control until June, to further confine Malaysians on the pretext of controlling the spreading the virus during the Muslim’s holy month of Ramadan and Hari Raya celebration. But his true intention must be obvious to all Malaysian votes - delaying the sitting of the Parliament until he completes buying MPs to secure his vote of confidence. Meanwhile preventing any forms of demonstration by the public.

Curiously the one day Parliament will have a shocker since it is set to convene with Parti Bersatu representatives sitting on both sides of the floor. Although Muhyiddin wishes to sit with the bigger group led by Azmin Ali, along with criminals the likes of Najib Razak, Tengku Adnan and Ahmad Zahid; ironically, we might witness an even bigger shocker with Azmin Ali’s Sheraton Part 2 taking shape. Can Muhyiddin face a potential embarrassment by Azmin Ali and Tun Mahathir sitting along with Pakatan Harapan, Warisan and Hishamuddin calling for a vote of no confidence in the presence of the King?
