In a recent posting his social media account, Tun Mahathir condemns the new Kedah government led by Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor for reopening the timber concessions in the state. While others alleging the new state government for following the footsteps of its fellow, PAS-governed Kelantan, Tun Mahathir has called for justice in Kedah so that the livelihood of the farmers and people will be saved from the “greedy loggers”. The word “greedy” should have not been used by him in the first place as it reflects his own. His posting clearly shows his defensive nature against Perikatan Nasional (PN) that has ousted his beloved son, Dato’ Seri Mukhriz Mahathir, from the MB position. This ‘let-daddy-cover-for-you-my-baby-son” act clearly displays Muhkriz Mahathir’s lack of credibility and prowess as a leader, that he has often let his father do damage control for him. Shame on him.
Nonetheless, Tun Mahathir will never let anyone touch Mukhriz despite the latter’s weaknesses. Like the last time, Tun Mahathir seems to be repeating the same for the sake of his son. How long can he do this for Mukhriz? What about the negligence that his son has done when he was given the chance to lead the state twice before this? Mukhriz’s unwillingness to stay in Kedah is another example of his disinterest to be close to the people in the state. Out of the 4 million people in Kedah, there have been many without proper homes, not able to feed themselves, and are still struggling in their lives.
Tun Mahathir’s inability to shake Muhyiddin Yassin now shatters him to pieces, even though he claims that he has enough 112 MP support to challenge the Bersatu president. His only gateway back to premiership is HM The King, yet would he be able to do it after the humiliating resignation he made in February? Be reminded that The King had reiterated to the members of the Parliament about the process HM had to go through after failing to persuade Tun Mahathir from giving up the position. Has he forgotten that The King will have to consult the Prime Minister first even if he manages to show evidence of the numbers to HM? Does he think that HM The King would put the people and country at stake during the pandemic Covid-19 hitting the country with a general election right now? Has he forgotten that Muhyiddin Yassin has a proper backup by HM? What other ideas does he have in plan to get his wishes fulfilled?
