It didn't come as a surprise to many when DAP showed their true colours. Initially DAP allowed Tun Mahathir to hijack Pakatan Harapan (PH) from Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim then they proceeded to abandon the latter altogether to pursue their control over PH on the pretext of getting Dato’ Seri Najib Razak for 1MDB. DAP played the cards well over 22 months by always giving in to Tun Mahathir’s demands as long as they could achieve their own agenda to make the Malays their subordinate with the support by the stooges in Amanah. But little did they know that Tun Mahathir gave them latitude while scheming together with Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin to crucify Anwar Ibrahim and DAP.
Although Tun Mahathir had to admit his participation in the prelude to the Sheraton Move, through the meeting held at his house in the afternoon prior to the dinner at Sheraton, his denial on any prior schemes are at least lame. From the events of the past few months, the leaked audios and pictures, we could gather a game plan. His motive to resign as PM without handing over the premiership to Anwar Ibrahim was too obvious and later surfaced as the coup masterminded by Muhyiddin Yassin alongside Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Dato’ Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, Dato’ Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and Dato’ Seri Fadillah Yusof to prevent Anwar Ibrahim from becoming PM and to put a stop to DAP’s reign in power. If fact, sources say, Tun Mahathir had everything going as planned until it was botched by the inexperienced Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and the game plan together with the coup hijacked by the invisible hands of his nemesis Najib Razak.
As someone who never stains his hands in any scheme, Tun Mahathir found a scapegoat in Muhyiddin Yassin once his plans backfired and fooled DAP once again to crawl back to his bosom. As always DAP wants to be seen as the master strategist who coaxed back the broken and is heeling Anwar Ibrahim despite Anwar Ibrahim smelling Tun Mahathir’s scheme right after the latter planted and leaked “Azmin’s semburit videos” to split PKR and bury the PKR president, as confirmed by reliable sources.
In the above scenario, Anthony Loke’s press statement on Wednesday and DAP and Amanah’s joint statement yesterday borders splitting PH. Political analysts and journalists across the board agree that PKR and Anwar Ibrahim had stood firm to their rightful position as the leader of PH. It is further agreed, Anthony Loke and Khalid Samad’s claim that PH must bow to pressure from Shafie Apdal is nonsensical. The so-called second option that they claim PH must take, portrays how well Tun Mahathir has played his cards. Tun Mahathir is blatantly using Shafie Apdal to make their first option impossible so that DAP and Amanah can pressure Anwar Ibrahim to accept the second option. This is akin to Anwar Ibrahim playing Russian roulette with all bullets in Tun Mahathir’s pocket, Anwar Ibrahim shooting blank and Tun Mahathir blowing Anwar Ibrahim’s brains off!
The current exercise is the third and final move orchestrated by Tun Mahathir to deny Anwar Ibrahim becoming Prime Minister forever, with the help of his pawns DAP and Amanah. With Anthony Loke spilling the beans on PH’s internal negotiations with Tun Mahathir and Shafie Apdal these last few months to recapture Putrajaya, exposes how desperate DAP and Amanah are to regain their short stint at the taste of power, control, lavishness and money in Putrajaya. Although Anthony Loke recounts it as DAP’s version, branding Anwar Ibrahim as an ‘indecisive leader’ is arrogance at its height. Anthony Loke is clearly ignorant of the fact that it was DAP’s actions during PH’s rule that caused Tun Mahathir and Muhyiddin Yassin to retaliate through their schemes. PKR and Anwar Ibrahim had no say in the PH government compared to DAP and Amanah although PKR had 52 MPs in hand. Was DAP and Amanah ever concerned with the disproportionate distribution of power dished out by Tun Mahathir?
DAP and Amanah know exactly that giving Tun Mahathir six months is utter stupid and undermines PH’s credibility to run the government and speaks volume of their appalling selfish nature to say the least. Their taste buds still relish from the power thrown to them by Tun Mahathir so much so they don’t want to leave their comfort zone knowing very well Anwar Ibrahim will not be as generous as Tun Mahathir. No wonder Anthony Loke and Khalid Samad claim Anwar Ibrahim needs Tun Mahathir to become Prime Minister.
The absurdity displayed by Anthony Loke and Khalid Samad decries the tolerance and good faith PKR has in them considering why should 96 MPs bow down to 10 MPs’ choice. In a democratic country are they not down playing righteousness and why can’t they stand firm by Shafie Apdal to his senses by abandoning Tun Mahathir? Why can’t they appreciate that with five MPs and being the sole and absolute cause of their predicament, Tun Mahathir needs PH more than the other way. The audacity at which Anthony Loke proclaims Tun Mahathir as sincere underscores DAP’s kissing up to the nonagenarian and demonstrates how gullible they are. Anwar Ibrahim and PKR should wise up and not be subjected to treachery within PH. DAP, Amanah and Tun Mahathir must be put in their proper places.
