In the name of protecting democracy, people, faith etc Tun Mahathir fooled the people and established his authoritarian rule. You remember how he used tactics where he had pushed through legislations curbing the power of the judiciary.

 Remember Param Cumaraswamy, the president of the Malaysian Bar Association said “‘the basic structure of our Constitution is destroyed and the balance between the executive, Legislature and judiciary is rudely shaken.'' The Malaysian judiciary, modeled after the courts in Britain, was considered by many politicians and lawyers to be the country's last independent institution able to curb the Prime Minister's growing personal power. Tun Mahathir had used legislative tactics to impose conditions on the judiciary. Remember,

 how many political activists were arrested. Not only that, he took action to shut four newspapers with a state-controlled media. Do we still need to support such a person to come back as your leader? Answer is within you…
