Mahathir needs “DAP oxygen” to stay resuscitated in politics

Malaysian Mirror       Tuesday, May 19, 2020

Tun Mahathir is now breathing even heavier without being resuscitated by DAP in his scheme to discretely oust PKR and Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim from Pakatan Harapan (PH) as Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin gets more support for the formation of Perikatan Nasional (PN). Six parties namely Bersatu, Barisan Nasional (BN), PAS, GPS, PBS and STAR have pledged allegiance and support to PN on 17 May and his son, Dato’ Seri Mukhriz Mahathir’s official defeat as Kedah MB to PAS leader Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor on the same day were among the spits to his face. The ache is even more painful when his blue-eyed boy, Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali, backstabbed him in the effort to oust his beloved son in Kedah by pulling the two PKR assemblymen out of the party simultaneously supporting PN. And in the Parliament one-day sitting, he somewhat had a ‘slap’ on his face when His Majesty The King reiterated the process involved in the appointment of Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, in which in a way, hinted to Tun Mahathir not to question His Majesty’s power and decision with his motion of no confidence against the Prime Minister. What more can this 94-year-old man bear?

Tun Mahathir’s ‘seemingly friendly’ agreement to work together with Anwar Ibrahim in PH to regain the people’s mandate won in 2018 could be doubted. He has never liked Anwar Ibrahim to be by his side, what more above him. Can he really work with the latter, or did he fake his pledge again? How long can he put on his hypocritical mask? Many believe that his crazy, dictatorial cycle will continue once he gets DAP to side him, clearly through his obsessive strategist, Lew Chin Tong and few others. Nonetheless, can Malaysians bear this? Can Malays just be in silence with all the provocative, undermining statements by the 7th PM and deny history? This should not happen.

While PN claimed that they have received six party support for its establishment, PH has stood firm to continue fighting for the people’s mandate with Anwar Ibrahim throwing out Tun Mahathir for his greed and negligence.  The humiliation continued in the Parliament sitting on 18 May as the HM The King highlighted his resignation that led to the selection of Muhyiddin Yassin as Prime Minister. Serve him right! Whose fault was it to abandon the country and PH in the first place? What's even bizarre is his claim today that Bersatu didn't actually leave PH thus trying to cling onto the coalition for the sake of his son.
