What is Tun Mahathir up to now? He is clearly the chaos maker in Bersatu and Pakatan Harapan (PH) and will never be at peace until he gets what he wants. Though the rakyat have been virtually retaliating, this thick-skinned old man is staging acts that could still garner him sympathy and support. On 9 May 2020, he had openly released a statement together with Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim that both of them have not given up their fight for the people's mandate that was slashed by the coup led by Dato' Seri Azmin Ali, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, Dato' Seri Hishammuddin Hussein and few prominent others.
Tun Mahathir seemed to be disappointed with the takeover and blamed Muhyiddin Yassin for it but surprisingly, not Azmin Ali. The question is, why should he be disappointed when he was the one who resigned as prime minister and left the country without a leader when the country was at war with the Covid-19 pandemic in February 2020? Although he said the reason behind his resignation was due to his party members’ rejection of him, then why is he churning moves to regain his influence in Bersatu and PH and wishes to gain premiership again? Is he implying that he lied about his party or he simply blamed others for his wrong move? Shouldn’t he just give in and rest? Being the trouble maker, the turmoil in Bersatu involving a rift between his and Muhyiddin Yassin's camps has become clearer now. His behaviour in PH is also queer as despite Bersatu's exit from PH, he has asked his son, Mukhriz, and supporters to urge that Bersatu returns to PH again. Moreover, he also showed that he has 'reconciled' with PH opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim, the man whom he had tortured, betrayed and lied to and motioned for a vote of no confidence against Muhyiddin Yassin. What could be his next move? The people should be extra careful with this conniving senile man and stop him from destroying others and the country.
