Perikatan Nasional (PN) government is crumbling and will not last long ever since the audio clip of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s “scheme of thing” on buying UMNO members with cabinet or GLC positions went viral. Whoever released the clip must have been the mole who was present at the meeting allegedly held in February 2020 before the Sheraton Move and was not happy with the Bersatu president. What makes it more interesting is the sequence of ‘revenge attack’ using audio recordings done by clashing parties. This clip came after the other one that reported to be Tun Mahathir’s discussion with his audience on bringing Bersatu out of Pakatan Harapan (PH). Both clips somehow revealed the conspiracies involving the two warlords yet the other sounded more conniving because he is now the prime minister of Malaysia who had verbally expressed a plan to bribe MPs for support. The pathetic part is, the ‘bribery’ was evident when more and more UMNO leaders being awarded with GLC top positions. Now how would Muhyiddin Yassin defend himself against the people, and ultimately from His Majesty The King who has entrusted him with the fight against corruption in the country? Isn’t this embarrassing and should not have happened?
Perhaps now is the time for Muhyiddin Yassin to perform a ‘check and balance’ on what he had done. Equally Tun Mahathir has started to hate his guts even more now when the 94-year-old man posted counter replies on what really happened on 23 February 2020 and on the prime minister’s willingness to work with ‘criminals’ on social media. In a video, Tun Mahathir even explained about what really transpired in the photo of him taken at his house with the rest of the prominent party leaders namely Muhyiddin Yassin, Dato’ Seri Shafie Apdal, Dato’ Seri Azmin Ali, Dato’ Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, Dato’ Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, and Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Haji Openg. He said that the photo was only about discussing the idea of pulling Bersatu out of PH to form a government with the kleptocratic UMNO that he did not fully agree. He told that he was then shocked that despite him asking for time to consider the motion, Muhyiddin Yassin and those leaders went to the Palace to have an audience with His Majesty The King. The question is, was he just “shocked” with their action or was he pissed off when they took him out of the plan?
Unlike Muhyiddin Yassin who is still quiet and not explaining about his bribery confession, Tun Mahathir came out giving his afterthought explanation which is ridiculously silly. Now what do these series of events tell about these two leaders? How should the people feel and think about them now? They have brought shame to His Majesty The King, by misleading and betraying the trust and faith placed upon them. These two greedy men are examples of how deceitful and mischievous one can become. It is time for Malaysians to wake up and choose a better and rightful leader who always strived for them and respects The Ruler. Malaysians should now rally behind Dato' Seri Anwar Ibrahim as His Majesty The King’s only and rightful choice.
