Just as questioned by Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku president Datuk Jeffrey Kitingan, only Tun Mahathir knows why he chose Warisan president Dato’ Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal as Pakatan Harapan (PH)’s PM candidate, instead of himself and opposition leader Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. The justification he made on his social media account that Shafie Apdal was among the first who came forward to reveal Dato’ Seri Najib Razak’s corruptive involvement in the 1MDB financial scandal prior to GE14 has made the Sabah chief minister most eligible for the premiership position. Tun Mahathir's move to nominate Shafie Apdal as candidate is clearly an attempt to block Anwar Ibrahim from assuming the position and to pave the way for his flashy son to become Prime Minister just to preserve Tun Mahathir's family interest. Indeed, Tun Mahathir is still as wretched as he could be, though he pretends not to be interested in the position, but nominates puppets to dance to his tune. He surely has plans for Anwar Ibrahim in the near future just like he initially wanted 6 months to finish off the latter.
Obviously, Tun Mahathir cannot live without having his blood inherit the premiership role. His announcement and decision of the so-called ‘PH’s choice’ was clearly made in the absence of PKR or its president Anwar Ibrahim - the true mandate from the people as promised by Tun Mahathir during GE14. He kept on accusing Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and the “back-door” Perikatan Nasional (PN) government of treachery and mischief for befriending the kleptocratic Barisan Nasional (BN) and UMNO leaders, yet he has forgotten that he too has not gotten any support from Malaysian voters since the abandonment of his duties last February. The series of events last week have displayed his lunacy and ridiculousness that led him to put his toy-boy Shafie Apdal instead to ease up the tension he caused within PH. The people’s impression on PH is getting worse because of Tun Mahathir, who is merely drawn into PH by the likes of Lew Chin Tong and Kula Segaran who had enjoyed enormously for 22 months by being Tun Mahathir's dispatch boys.
The clear fact of Lew Chin Tong, Kula and Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub blasting Anwar Ibrahim for merely engaging with Dato’ Seri Hamzah Zainuddin is apparent that they are still carrying out dispatch jobs for Tun Mahathir while bringing down PH as a whole in the process. Can't the old guards in DAP like Lim Kit Siang, Gobind Singh Deo and Lim Guan Eng see through these dispatch boys where they are allowing Tun Mahathir take PH for a ride solely for his own personal objectives?
Though Shafie Apdal says he needs time to consider Tun Mahathir's proposal, isn't it crystal clear that the old man is openly ridiculing Anwar Ibrahim and PKR and the PH supreme council is letting him off without any reprimand? Shafie Apdal, being cautious of his political future, has rightly kept the proposal in abeyance until an endorsement is made by the PH Supreme council. He also knows how manipulative Tun Mahathir can be and is not willing to carry the guilt of the latter’s plans towards Anwar Ibrahim while his hands and legs are tied. So why should Tun Mahathir wait? He should bluntly nominate daddy’s-little-boy Mukhriz Mahathir as the puppet to dance to his father's tune.
